|10:51 am - I have the bestest friends|
After much fussing and worrying over all the technical stuff and other logistics, Friday night’s S/M at the Movies program went off without a hitch, thanks to naylandblake who was my A/V
geek technical consultant for the evening, and Jeff, the TES facilitator, who came through in the end, getting there early to set up everything else. It was the first time I had used a digital projector, and since everything was borrowed from different sources I was worried if it would all work together. Of course, I ended up forgetting the remote to my DVD player, and as the unit didn’t have buttons for FF, REW, or CHAPTER SKIP, I was terrified I would hit the OPEN/CLOSE button which would restart the DVD from the beginning, and I’d be totally screwed. I put a piece of duct tape over the button which helped me avoid it while pressing the STOP and PLAY buttons in the dark, thus proving the claim that Duct tape fixes almost all problems.
It was a capacity crowd. Friends Scott/schlingel and Olli/ejo_muc were in attendance, as were the woofy and talented artist Neil Bruce/bulk and famed photographer Barbara Nitke. Sex bloggers extraordinaire lolitasir and viviane212 were there, and I was delighted to see Ernie/faghatesgods and Greg/mondragon afterwards, who, rushing from a previous engagement, had gotten there late and had to stand in the back for most of the program. The funniest surprise was that apparently there’s a sex club/pro domme space next door to this venue, and some of our clips were accompanied by the not-all-that-muffled moans, whacks!, and screams of some guy getting worked over next door.
The only problem was running a few minutes late, because of the lengthy Eulenspiegel announcements of their many upcoming events, and I had forgotten I had written a longer introduction. So we hustled out of there so they could let in the people who were arriving for the sex party that followed. Scott and Olli were helpful enough to taxi Nayland and I home, and Scott suggested we stop someplace for a bite. We ended up at yet another of NYC’s new upscale burger joints, this one named brgr, which was a great place to decompress after the program and the hasty exit.
Saturday I took it easy, doing little more than catching up on a lot of the stuff that had piled up on my Tivo during my two weeks away. One of the programs I watched was Ellen’s Big Variety Show, taped in Las Vegas, and the appearance of the overly plastic and stretched face of Wayne Newton was downright frightening. He should be doing horror movies, where “I’ll be here all week!” and “Try the veal!” would take on much more sinister connotations.
In the wee hours of Sunday morning it snowed, about two inches here in Manhattan. The first snow of the year is always pretty, although it’s even prettier when it’s falling. It was off to Nayland’s for his tree-trimming open house party, where once again I got to see Lolita, Greg, and Ernie, as well as Cliff/jazzbearnyc, Dominic/dominicvine, Phil/boymeat, a bunch of Nayland’s artist friends, and a host of others whose screennames I’m not remembering or connecting at the moment. I got to meet Nayland’s mom, and meet and talk with Jorge/astromante. The food that everybody brought was great, especially Ernie’s Chinese Five-Spice Chicken Wings (Best. Chicken Wings. Ever.) and Nayland’s mom’s cranberry and walnut cake. Lolita never ceases to amaze me, she brought chocolate mint brownies which were so perfect-looking and yummy I assumed they were from a commercial mix, it turns out she made them from scratch. Along with the pies that Scott and Olli helped me procure, everything was so good I ate more than I should have, and the afternoon was so convivial I ended up staying much longer into the evening than I thought I would.
Satan Santa gave me the only thing I wanted for Christmas!
It was a great way to start the holiday season.
It was an excellent presentation. Marat/Sade is close to my heart - I performed it in HS.
My friend Badman was with me, and wrote it up: http://tinyurl.com/28mvrr
Can you please explain why all the flogging so poorly done?

'cause no one associated with any of the films has actually done it.
I've commented on this in other programs with other clips. Even in the highly "naturalistic" Salo, Pasolini dubs stock sounds of whipcracks over the scene with a short whip that would never make that sound, especially in the way it's being used and striking the body and floor in the scene.
The best flogging scene that's made it into one of my programs is from Verhoeven's Starship Troopers, even though no sexual gratification is shown or alluded to in the scene -- usually a prerequisite for inclusion -- because of its classic structure, comparable to actual scenes and good s/m porn.
Runner-up goes to Billy Budd with a young Terrance Stamp, largely because it's how I realized I was gay and kinky at the age of 16.
They actually used a real whip and someone who knew how throw it in starship troopers
Why did I have to look behind that Wayne Newton cut? Why?

Don't say you weren't warned! And he looked even worse/scarier on the show. He's officially 65 years old.
Yeah, but you knew the temptation that would set up.
I did the same thing the other day when I warned somebody about Googling images of condyloma
I am a bad person.
Your program was great! I ate at brgr the other day and I enjoyed it, too. Glad you liked my brownies. Always love seeing you!

Thanks so much for coming -- and bringing a guest! You're always a delight to be around.

Joseph Bean says that duct tape is the answer to everything. It will mend anything but a broken heart.
Y'know.....my best prom gown, EVER*, was made of packing tape! There was a gown form at the opera shop, where I was working, that had roughly my measurements, so I wrappped it in tape, slit it up the back, and stuck in a zipper!
It was quite a hit, as, it was shiny as all get-out, and obviously made of tape, which is pretty silly, for a dress!
There may be pictures at, http://www.ttc.org
(*Tacky Tourist Clubs of America, Seattle Chapter threw: "The Prom You Never Went To" for something like, 17 years!)
The woofy and talented feelings are mutual big guy!---agreed, a good way to start the holiday season; with pink cheeks!
Yikes! Wayne Newton looks like Mary Kay!
Satan Santa gave me the only thing I wanted for Christmas!
No, sorry, that’s what I want for Xmas!
